Black Country names new head of tourism

Black Country Tourism has appointed David Morris as its new head of tourism.

As Black Country Tourism manager, he will be responsible for improving the region’s reputation as a business tourism destination and boosting its media profile.

He said: “The recent publication of our Black Country Visitor Economy Strategy gives a solid framework for the sector, which in my eyes is a sector that is undervalued.”

One of the targets set out by Black Country Tourism is to create 5000 jobs over the next five years.

Morris has worked in local government for around 30 years – most recently as the business development manager for Dudley Council. Details:
