Tessa Jowell addresses BISL Conference on Licensing Reforms

Secretary of State Tessa Jowell set out her intentions on reforming licensing full to an audience of senior leisure industry executives at the Business
Sport and Leisure Annual Conference and Exibition held on 20th November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
This was be her first major speech on licensing reform, since the Bill was confirmed in the Queen's Speech on 13th November. In her speech she covered how deregulation will be rolled out, and how the controls given to Local Authorities will contribute towards reducing the Government's crime and disorder targets.
Other speakers on the subject included Sir Brian Stewart CBE, Chairman of Scottish & Newcastle, and Cllr Susie Kemp, Head of Public Protection at the Local Government Association.
