ABTA - The Travel Association

ABTA is the UK's Premier Trade Association for Tour Operators and Travel Agents. ABTA's 800 tour operators and 6700 travel agency offices are responsible for the sale of some 80% of UK-sold holidays.

AIPO - Alliance of International Property Owners

AIPO provides support, representation & community to the 1.5 million British-resident owners of a foreign property: freehold, leasehold or timeshare. An estimated 20,000 Britons buy a foreign property each year. AIPO is supported both by the AIPP - the Association of International Property Professionals (freehold / leasehold property) and the RDO - the Resort Developers Organisation (timeshare).

Airlines UK

Airlines UK is the trade body for UK registered airlines, with members representing all sectors of the industry. We work with governments, regulators and legislators to promote the interests of UK airlines, and with organisations across the sector to encourage long-term and sustainable growth in aviation.

Airport Operators Association

The Airport Operators Association (AOA) is the trade association that represents UK airports. Its mission is to see UK airports grow sustainably. It represents the views of its members to Government, Parliament and Regulators to secure policy outcomes that help deliver this mission.


ANTOR is the principal lobbying organisation for the world's tourist offices. Its UK membership comprises national and regional tourist offices which are represented in Britain. ANTOR's objectives include providing a fraternal forum for its members to meet and exchange ideas, to forge close relationships with all other sectors of the travel industry; to be recognised as one of the foremost advocates of responsible tourism and to comment on a wide range of issues affecting worldwide travel and tourism. ANTOR UK is a voluntary, non-political organisation which was established in 1952.

ASAP - The Association of Serviced Apartment Providers

ASAP: Association of Serviced Apartment Providers is the not-for-profit trade body dedicated exclusively to the serviced apartment industry. Our 190 members - serviced apartment operators and agents - own and operate over 100,000 properties globally. The value of our sector in the UK is £864 million and will grow +17% by 2020 (STR forecast, Dec 2017). Our ASAP Quality Accreditation is the leading global quality assessment programme for the serviced apartment sector.

Association for Tourism in Higher Education

The Association for Tourism in Higher Education (ATHE) is the subject association for tourism in higher education in the UK. ATHE carries out a wide range of activities designed to further the interests of tourism in higher education including: the representation of tourism as a subject area to government agencies and others; the production of guidelines of good practice; liaison with other subject groups, in particular for Leisure, Hospitality and Sport; an anuual conference to address current issues in tourism education; maintainenance of links between education, employers and other interested bodies in tourism.

Association of Group Travel Organisers

The Association of Group Travel Organisers (AGTO) was established in 1991 and represents the interests of Britain’s group travel sector. It has over 600 members with 7 branches around the UK. The Association provides group organisers and suppliers to the groups travel market with a range of benefits as well as a forum to exchange views, expertise and opinion through branch meetings, conferences and a national newsletter

Association of Leading Visitor Attractions

ALVA's 52 members are the UK's most popular, iconic and important museums, galleries, palaces, castles, cathedrals, zoos, historic houses, heritage sites, gardens and leisure attractions. They comprise over 2000 tourist sites, hosting over 100 million domestic and overseas visitors each year - around 25% of the visits made annually in the UK.

Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR)

The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers was set up in 1992 to promote the interests of the independent companies within licensed retailing. It is run by a small permanent staff based at International House in Ealing and they respond to an elected Council of Members.
